Park Development:
The Cooke family were the first to see the potential for a retirement mobile home park in the Gallagher Lake area. In 1978 they successfully developed the first 25 lots. Two years later they sold the campground and the mobile home park to Maya and Theo Brouwer, who had just immigrated from the Netherlands.
In 1981 the Brouwers developed the next 40 lots, most with full underground services. The roads were paved, streetlights were erected and natural gas became a welcome alternative to fuel oil.
Around 1989 there was even more demand for housing, and that is when the park was expanded to its present size of 109 lots.

Retirement Park:
Under the current guidelines of the Tenancy Act, Country Pines is a retirement park. The minimum age for tenants is 55 years.

Water Supply:
Water is supplied by two 7 1/2 HP pumps that each produce over 100 gallons p.m. The two wells are located near lots 68 and 76. Over 15 pressure tanks in two pumphouses keep the water pressure at a steady 62 to 80 PSI.
Great Western Pump Service of Oliver monitors our water system on a monthly basis.

Water Quality:
Our drinking and irrigation water comes from two wells drilled to a depth of 125 feet. The drilling reports indicate there is a hard rock layer at about 60 to 70 feet depth which certainly contributes to the excellent quality and taste of our water.
Any residents of the Park buying bottled water are definitely wasting their hard earned dollars.
The Ministry of Health is monitoring the water quality on a monthly basis.

Septic Tanks and Fields:
Every two homes are connected to a 1,000 gallon septic tank and a 200 foot septic field.
Maintenance of the tank and field are the responsibility of Park management.
