Unfortunately the Pine Beetle has arrived in the Gallagher Lake area.
To protect the trees in our campground we have put verbenone pouches
on every tree. Verbenone is a chemical the beetles emit themselves, that
signals to other beetles the tree is already under attack and that they
should go elsewhere. This way we hope the beetles will not infest our trees.
You will find a white plastic pouch on every Ponderosa Pine tree. Carved into the landscape by the weight of a mile thick wall of ice moving south thousands of years ago, Gallagher Lake lies at the foot of an awe inspiring 600 foot
precipice.
On the shoreline of Gallagher Lake, nestled amongst 100 foot Ponderosa pine, Gallagher Lake KOA affords a total vacation experience to all our visitors worldwide. ![]() A spring-fed private lake, Gallagher Lake offers our guests an immaculate sandy beach, clear water, beautiful scenery, unique flora and fauna, and access to numerous recreational activities. Visitors return year after year to rekindle their affection for this lovely paradise. Last updated June 19, 2007
